Hiking
Hiking trails lead directly from the alp in all directions. The options are varied and depend solely on your wishes and fitness level. A walk around the lake, a hike through ruins and an exciting journey into the past, or perhaps a classic long-distance hiking trail of the Allgäu hiking trilogy across the panoramic views and summit worlds. You decide, depending on the day and your mood, whether you prefer a leisurely or high alpine route. Tips:
Swimming in the natural lakes
Guests can reach the SCHLOSSANGER pond with its pleasantly soft moor water in just 2 minutes! Also in the immediate vicinity and away from tourism: the Kögelweiher and the Allatsee, above the Weissensee. Lake Allatsee is the subject of numerous legends, always guarantees cool, fresh water thanks to its great depth and has recently served as the backdrop for numerous Allgäu thrillers ... Those who prefer a royal and historical experience can swim in the Alpsee or Schwansee lakes with a view of Ludwig's castles and the Tegelberg in the background.
Climbing garden and archery
In the Höllschlucht forest ropes course in Pfronten-Kappel, you balance over narrow ropes and always feel the height in your whole body when well secured ... One more step and you reach the next platform: cool, done! 11 courses with over 100 varied tasks await you. The forest ropes course also offers a further challenge with archery at 3D targets: Your gaze glides along the arrow, aiming at the target. You can feel the tension in your muscles, in your arch. Silence ... and you let go. Are you ready?
Travel time from SCHLOSSANGER: 12 minutes
The forest ropes course is closed in winter. It usually opens at Easter and the season then runs until the end of the Bavarian fall vacations.
KönigsCard experience: 3 hours of climbing are included free of charge (per day & per person).

Skiing
In the winter sports resort of Pfronten, skiers and snowboarders will find their happiness on the slopes in 3 ski areas: in the Pfronten-Steinach ski center, on the Hochalpe on the Breitenberg and the Sonnenlift in Pfronten-Röfleuten. A total of 13 cable cars and lifts with over 20 kilometers of slopes and a large fun park offer entertaining winter fun. If you still haven't had enough, you can go night skiing on one of the longest floodlit slopes in the Allgäu or enjoy après-ski in one of the cozy mountain huts.
With around 500 kilometers of pistes, the Allgäu ski region is Germany's largest ski area, family-friendly and versatile, and offers the right piste for beginners and advanced skiers: The Tannheimertal, Nesselwang or Höfen near Reutte, where the Hahnenkamm invites you to enjoy the magic of the slopes, are just a few minutes away.
The Pfronten ski school offers ski courses for beginners and returners.

Natural toboggan run
A face covered in snow, lumps of ice in your hair and the wind in your face - that's what the longest natural toboggan run in the Allgäu feels like. Sledging fans of all ages can take the Breitenberg cable car and the short ride on the four-seater chairlift up to 1,677m. Before heading downhill on runners, the Hochalp-Hütte and the Berghaus Allgäu invite you onto their sun terraces.
The spectacular view of the Pfronten valley is only surpassed by the panoramic view from the summit of the Breitenberg, which can be reached from here in a half-hour winter hike. As a reward, you can enjoy the surrounding peaks of the Allgäu and Tyrolean Alps as well as a hearty snack in the Ostlerhütte.
From the top station of the chairlift, it's time to set off on the gigantic, 6.5-kilometre-long toboggan run - an exhilarating experience of a very special kind. Back in the valley, a bus takes the tobogganers and their sledges back to the Breitenbergbahn valley station.
Travel time from SCHLOSSANGER: 13 minutes

Horse-drawn sleigh
With two horsepower through the Pfrontner valley! The winter landscape passes by, the horses snort and steam, and you enjoy the relaxed ride wrapped up in a warm woolen blanket. Whether an hour's ride with a picnic break or a tour to the Kögelweiher pond with a stop at the Kögelhof: both have their charm. We are happy to organize the timetable!
Royal castles
World-famous: the castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. Both castles are only a few kilometers away from the town center of Füssen and attract over 1.5 million visitors every year. A visit to the castle is already a highlight in summer, and in winter it is a very special experience. The horse-drawn carriage ride up to Neuschwanstein Castle is the best tip for romantics. Our guests can also reach Hohenschwangau Castle in less than half an hour. The Museum of the Bavarian Kings also allows visitors to experience the history of the Wittelsbach dynasty up close.

Zugspitze
At 2,962 m, the Zugspitze is the highest mountain in Germany and one of the Alps' prime viewing mountains. In good weather, you can enjoy the 4-country view of the two- and three-thousand-meter peaks - and the only four-thousand-meter peak in the Eastern Alps.
You can reach the summit directly from Ehrwald with the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn. Even the ascent in the 100-passenger panoramic cabins is an experience. You glide almost silently up the mountain, overcoming a height difference of 1,725 m in just 10 minutes.
If you want to enjoy the distant winter views while skiing, the Zugspitzplatt is the place to be. The altitude and the glacier guarantee snow throughout the winter season.
You can also get to the Zugspitze from Garmisch-Partenkirchen: either by taking the train first or directly from Eibsee with the Zugspitzbahn, which opened in 2018.
